Onboarding Yourself to Spur: Complete Setup Guide

This guide walks you through setting up your Spur account from scratch. Follow these steps in order and you'll be live in under 30 minutes.

Resources Before You Start:


Step 1: Create Your Account

Go here and sign up.

Choose the plan that works for you. If you need discounts, select a plan higher than monthly. We offer discounts on:

  • Quarterly plans (you will not see it in the list, but you can contact us for this.)

  • Semi-annual plans (you will not see it in the list, but you can contact us for this.)

  • Annual plans

Need a bigger discount or custom pricing? Contact our sales team on WhatsApp.


Step 2: Connect Your Channels

Once you've signed up and completed payment, connect your messaging channels.

Step 3: Check Your Shared Inbox

After connecting your channels, make sure everything's flowing properly.

Go to WhatsApp under settings and check if your number shows connected with a green dot next to it.

Go to Inbox and verify:

  • Messages from WhatsApp are coming through

  • Instagram DMs are showing up

  • Facebook messages are visible

  • Test by sending yourself a message on each channel

Step 4: Link Products to Your Posts (only for Shopify stores)

If you're using Instagram or Facebook, link products to your posts so customers can shop directly from comments.


Step 5: Turn On Essential Flows (for ecom brands)

These 8 automations should be enabled right away for ecommerce brands:

  1. Order Confirmation

  2. Shipping Updates

  3. COD to Prepaid

  4. Abandoned Checkout Recovery

  5. COD Confirmation

  6. Delivery Confirmation

  7. Review Collection

  8. Track Order Flow

How to enable them: Tap Automations > + New Flow > Search for them with their names > Create and toggle each one on.

Step 6: Set Up Live Chat Widget (Optional)

Want customers to message you directly from your website?


Step 7: Send Your First Broadcast

Broadcasts let you message your customer list with offers, updates, or announcements.

Before sending out a broadcast, you must learn how to craft templates, what categories exist and how to import contacts.

Step 8: Set Up Your AI Assistant

If you're on a plan with AI, train your assistant to handle common questions automatically.
