Shopify Settings

Connect your Shopify store to Spur for product syncing, order tracking, and displaying products in Instagram conversations and automations.

Updated yesterday

Overview

The Shopify section in settings lets you connect your Shopify store to Spur.

Before Connecting

When no Shopify store is connected, you'll see:

  • Shopify Store URL field: Enter your store's URL

  • Connect Shopify Store button: Starts the integration process

Once you click on 'Connect', it'll lead you to your Shopify admin panel where you'll be asked to install the Spur app, and give it permissions to view and manage your store.

After reviewing and accepting the permissions, the integration will be established and you'll be redirected back to Spur.

You can review the permissions you're granting to Spur but we're GDPR compliant so there's not going to be any information of yours from your store that will ever be at risk of being compromised or mishandled.

Additionally, we can't and won't take any actions on your store except the ones you have specifically configured Spur settings and flows to take.

Connecting Your Shopify Store

Step 1: Enter Store URL

  1. In the Shopify Store URL field, enter your store's URL

  2. Format: your-website.com (without https://)

  3. Click Connect Shopify Store

Step 2: Authorize Connection

You'll be redirected to Shopify to authorize the connection and grant necessary permissions for product and order data access.

After Successfully Connecting

Once connected, the interface changes to show:

Connection Status

  • Store URL: Displays your connected Shopify store URL as a clickable link

  • Success message: "Successfully connected" confirmation

Available Actions

Sync Orders: Manually sync recent orders from Shopify to Spur for updated order tracking and customer data. (Press this button once after connecting your store to Spur. Use this when there is some discrepancy in order details that you might've observed on Spur, otherwise this doesn't need to be button you have to press from time to time to manually sync orders, it all happens automatically on its own)

Sync Contacts: Import customer contact information from Shopify orders into your Spur contact database. (Press this button once after connecting your store to Spur)

Keep in mind: Contacts can't be synced unless there's a WhatsApp number connected to the account already. So the way to go about it is, you first connect the number then connect Shopify and sync the contacts so that there's a channel (WhatsApp) to associate those synced contacts with.

Disconnect Store: Remove the Shopify integration completely. This stops all data syncing between platforms. (Only do this if you're offboarding from Spur, if something else is going wrong that you hope to fix with disconnecting the store, consult us first before doing it, there might be other ways to solve the problem you might be having.)

Troubleshooting

Things not working as expected? Use the "Try this button" option to refresh the connection and resolve common sync issues.

What This Integration Enables

  • Automated Abandoned Cart Recovery: You can set up automatic messages to be sent to customers who add items to their cart but don't complete the purchase, helping you recover potentially lost sales.

  • Order & Fulfillment Notifications: Automatically send messages to your customers for events like order confirmation, when an order is fulfilled, and other order updates. This keeps your customers informed and reduces support queries.

  • Centralized Customer Communication: You can manage conversations from WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram in one place, with full context of the customer's Shopify order history right beside the chat.

  • Enhanced Customer Support: Your team can see a customer's order details directly within Spur, allowing for faster and more accurate support without needing to switch between different tabs.

  • Product Catalog Sync: Your Shopify product catalog can be synced with Spur, making it easy to share products with customers directly in your chats.

The integration creates a seamless connection between your e-commerce store and customer communication channels managed through Spur.
