Where Your Bot Can Live

Your AI agent can work across 4 channels. Connect one or all - your choice. Each channel has its own setup, but once connected, your bot handles convos everywhere.

Head to AI Agents > Configure > Channels to set these up.

1. Website / Live Chat

Your website visitors can chat with the bot directly.

Setup steps:

  1. First create a Live Chat channel (there's a separate guide for that here)

  2. Come back to AI Agents > Channels

  3. Click the + button next to the Live Chat channel name you've set up

  4. Done - bot's now going to start answering chats coming through your website's live chat widget

What happens:

  • Visitor opens chat widget on your site

  • Bot collects lead

  • Bot introduces itself

  • Handles questions using your training data

  • Escalates to human when needed

Pro tip: Make sure "Collect Leads" is on in your live chat settings so you capture visitor info before bot starts chatting.

2. WhatsApp

Most popular channel. Customers love WhatsApp.

Setup steps:

  1. Click + next to WhatsApp next to your connected WhatsApp number

  2. Confirmation prompt appears, click on confirm

  3. That's it

Bot handles:

  • Product questions

  • Order tracking (automatic with their number)

  • Business hours

  • Basically everything you trained it on

Make sure your WhatsApp catalog is connected for product questions. Bot can show products directly in chat.

3. Instagram

Turn those DMs into sales convos.

Setup steps:

  1. Make sure Instagram is connected to Spur first

  2. Click + next to your connected Instagram account

  3. Enable

Works with:

  • Story replies

  • Direct messages

  • Ad responses

4. Facebook

Same setup as Instagram basically.

Setup steps:

  1. Facebook must be connected already

  2. Click + next to your Facebook page

  3. Turn on

Handles:

  • Messenger chats

  • Ad message responses

Channel Management

See connected channels:

  • Green dot = Active and working

  • Red dot = Disconnected or error

  • Gray = Configured but disabled

To disconnect a channel:

  • Click the channel

  • Hit disable or remove

  • Bot stops answering there immediately

Testing Your Channels

After connecting, test each one:

Live Chat test:

  • Open your website in incognito

  • Start a chat

  • Ask a product question

  • Try escalating to human

WhatsApp test:

  • Message your business number

  • Ask about an order

  • Test opt-out phrase

  • Check if buttons appear

Instagram/Facebook test:

  • DM your page

  • See if bot responds correctly

Common Channel Issues

Bot not responding on website?

  • Check live chat widget is embedded correctly

  • Verify channel is connected in AI settings

  • Make sure bot is enabled for that channel

  • Make sure AI Credits are not completely depleted

WhatsApp bot offline?

  • Check number is still connected

  • Verify WhatsApp quality rating is red

  • Make sure you have message credits

Instagram/Facebook silent?

  • Reconnect Facebook login (expires sometimes)

  • Verify page permissions

Remember: Start with one channel, test it thoroughly, then add more. Better to have one channel working perfectly than four channels confusing customers. Most businesses start with WhatsApp or Live Chat, then expand.
