Why Switch?
Earlier, Meta had a single login flow where signing in once gave access to both Facebook and Instagram. The problem was permissions weren’t managed well and syncing often broke.
Now we ask you to log in to Facebook and Instagram separately. With Instagram Direct Login, Spur fetches your ads and posts more reliably. It’s optimized for fewer sync issues and smoother performance overall.
Steps to Switch
Step 1: Navigate to Instagram Settings
Go to Settings > Instagram & Facebook in your Spur dashboard
Find your connected Instagram account under Channel Information
Step 2: Refresh Permissions
Click the blue "Refresh Permissions" button
This will disconnect your old consolidated login
Step 3: Reconnect with Direct Login
After refreshing, you'll be prompted to login again
Log in directly to your Instagram account when prompted
Step 4: Verify Connection
Check that your Instagram account shows as connected
Test a few automations to make sure everything's working
That's it. Your Instagram will now use the direct login method, giving you better performance and fewer headaches with sync issues.
