Why Is My WhatsApp Message Template Pending?

Reasons for Pending Status

  1. WhatsApp’s Review Process

    Every template undergoes a review by WhatsApp to ensure it meets their policies. This can take up to 24 hours, but it may take longer during high submission volumes.

    Usually, in our experience, when you're just submitting a single template, it takes less than a minute for it to be approved or rejected.

  2. Links in Template
    Avoid putting any links in the template body itself, as that will prolong the time it takes for the template to be approved or rejected significantly.

    Instead, use buttons or variables, then fill the link at the time of sending the template.

  3. Template edited after approval

    If you edited a template after it was approved, it might get stuck in pending status for upto 24 hours. The best way around this is to create a new template, copy the content from the previous one, and submit it again for approval.
