How to Change Your Billing Information on Spur

Learn how to update your billing details, payment method, and invoice information in Spur.

If you need to update your billing address, payment method, or other billing details, you can do so through Spur's Billing Portal powered by Stripe. This guide walks you through the steps.


Accessing the Billing Portal

Step 1: Open Settings

Click on the Settings icon in the left sidebar (gear icon at the bottom of the menu)

Step 2: Go to Plans & Usage

In the settings menu that appears, click on Plans & Usage

You'll see your current plan details, including:

  • Automations used

  • Segments used

  • Custom fields used

  • Users

Step 3: Open Billing Portal

In the top right corner of the Plans & Usage section, click Billing Portal & Invoices

This will open the Stripe Billing Portal in a new window.


Updating Billing Information

Once you're in the Stripe Billing Portal, you'll see:

  • Current Subscription – Your plan details and billing cycle

  • Payment Method – Your saved payment card

  • Billing Information – Your name, email, address, and tax ID

  • Invoices - Your invoices till date

To Update Your Billing Details:

  1. Scroll down to the Billing Information section

  2. Click Update information

You can now change:

  • Name – Update the billing name

  • Email – Change the email for invoices

  • Address – Update your billing address (country, address line 1, address line 2, city, state, ZIP code)

  • Phone number – Add or update your phone number

  • Tax ID – Add your GST, VAT, or other tax identification number

Once you've made your changes, click the blue Save button

Your billing information will be updated immediately and will appear on future invoices.


Changing Your Payment Method

If you need to update your credit card or add a new payment method:

Step 1: Add a New Payment Method

  1. In the Payment Method section, click + Add payment method

  2. Enter your new card details

  3. Click Add

Step 2: Make the New Card Default (Optional)

If you have multiple payment methods, you can set one as the default:

  1. Click the three dots (...) next to the card you want to set as default

  2. Click Make default

Step 3: Delete an Old Payment Method (Optional)

Once you've added a new payment method, you can delete the old one:

  1. Click the three dots (...) next to the card you want to remove

  2. Click Delete

Note: You must have at least one payment method saved. If you want to completely remove all card information, contact Spur support and we'll remove it from the backend.


Viewing Invoice History

You can view and download all your past invoices from the Billing Portal.

Steps:

  1. Scroll down to the Invoice History section

  2. Click on any invoice to view or download it

Invoices show:

  • Billing period

  • Amount charged

  • Payment method used

  • Plan details


Troubleshooting

Q: I can't access the Billing Portal. What should I do?

A: Make sure you're logged in as the account owner or have admin permissions. Only account owners can access billing settings.

If you're still having trouble, contact Spur support.


Q: I updated my billing information, but it's not showing on my invoice.

A: Changes to billing information apply to future invoices only. Past invoices cannot be edited.

If you need an updated invoice for a past billing period, contact Spur support.


Q: Can I change my plan from the Billing Portal?

A: No. To upgrade or downgrade your plan, go to Settings > Plans & Usage and click Change Plan.


Q: How do I remove my card information completely?

A: If you want to remove all payment methods (for example, after canceling your subscription), contact Spur support. We'll remove your card details from the backend.
