Occasionally, your WhatsApp API number may go into an "Offline" or "Disconnected" status due to changes in the WhatsApp API or other connectivity issues.
On your WhatsApp manager, it will appear like this:
This guide will walk you through the simple process of reconnecting your number using an OTP (One-Time Password) verification directly within the Spur platform.
Step 1: Navigate to WhatsApp Settings in Spur
Log in to your Spur account.
From the main dashboard, click on the Settings icon in the left-hand navigation menu.
Under Settings, select WhatsApp.
Step 2: Access Your WhatsApp Channel
On the "WhatsApp Numbers" page, you will see a list of your connected numbers.
Locate the number with the red Disconnected status.
Click on View Channel for that number.
Step 3: Start the Debug Process
On the channel settings page, you will see an alert box labeled Debug Number Connectivity.
This section indicates that your number is not connected and allows you to test its ability to receive messages.
Click on the link that says Not Connected.
Step 4: Request the Verification Code
A pop-up window titled "Verify WhatsApp Number" will appear.
Important: Ensure that the phone number you are verifying can receive SMS messages or voice calls. If it cannot, the verification will fail.
Select your preferred verification method (SMS is selected by default).
Click the Send Verification Code button.
Step 5: Enter the OTP to Verify
You will receive a 4-6 digit verification code via SMS on the registered phone number.
Enter this code into the Enter Verification Code field in the pop-up.
Click Verify Code.
Step 6: Refresh Permissions (Final Step)
After successful verification, it's a good practice to refresh your permissions to ensure everything is synced correctly.
Scroll down to the bottom of the channel settings page.
Click the link that says Try refreshing permissions.
That's it! Your WhatsApp number should now be reconnected and back to its "Connected" status on Spur and WhatsApp, ready to send and receive messages.
