You can now send Carousel messages on WhatsApp to your customers with Clickable buttons (Quick Reply and CTA buttons) through Spur.

You will be able to easily up to 10 cards/products to your customers in a carousel format, as well as have them purchase your products right on WhatsApp through the Razorpay Pay Integration.

How to create a WhatsApp Carousel message in Spur App?

Login to your Spur dashboard. Head to Marketing Tools -> Message Templates -> Click on "Create" on the top right.

1. Create Template and Enter Basic Details

The create page first asks you the basic details about the template you want to create.

  1. Name your template

  2. Carousel templates can only be marketing templates, so make sure you select the Marketing category

Scroll down, in the template format select carousel and then hit Create Template

2. Enter Details for the Carousel

The great thing about Spur is we let you draft templates. That means you can save the template and later submit it with all your progress on the template saved.

Now enter the details of the template as per your requirements

To change the content of any card, just click on that card

When you're ready, just hit submit! If there are any errors, Spur will let you know. You can also edit a template after it is submitted. But you cannot edit a template more than once in 24 hours.

Sending a Carousel Template

Now that you've created it, how do we send it?

Go to Spur's shared inbox, here you will find all the chats at one place. In the search bar, type your number or just send a Hi. It will appear on the top.

There are two ways to send a template:

1.For a person you're already having a chat with

2. For someone you dont have a conversation window with

Both the above open the same send single message modal. Here you can easily select the variables that you'd like to send in the template.

Our interface easily allows you to add variable to your templates to personalize it according to your customer.

Formatting rules you should know before creating a WhatsApp Template Message

  • Proofread your content for spelling and grammar before submitting it for review. Messages with incorrect spelling or any grammatical errors may prompt customers to view these messages as spam.

  • Make sure to use variable parameters (e.g., {{1}}, {{2}}, etc.) and that they have the correct number of curly brackets (i.e., there need to be 2 brackets on the left and 2 on the right of the variable)

  • Make sure the parameters (e.g., {{1}}) contains some text with it
    For example:
    Correct Format:
    Hello {{1}}

    Wrong Format:
    Hello
    {{1}}
    {{2}}

  • Make sure the language selected matches the content of your message template

    • If you select Spanish as the message template language but the content is in English, your message template will be rejected

    • Ensure that your content is in one language. A mixture of languages such as "Hinglish" or "Spanglish" will not be approved

  • If you’re going to submit a message template for testing your API connection, please ensure it’s in the correct format. Any other variation will be rejected

    • Message template name: test

    • Content: Hello {{1}}

  • Refrain from using a URL shortener for your links (e.g., bit.ly, TinyURL, or goo.gl) because they obscure the intended link destination

  • The URL domain in your links should belong to your business.

  • Refrain from using extra spaces at the end of your template or double spacing in between your content. Generally, this spacing results in the rejection of the message.

  • Refrain from adding double-line space between your texts. For example;
    Correct Format:

    Hello {{1}},

    How may I help you?

    Incorrect Format:

    Hello {{1}},

    How may I help you?

  • Avoid using Emoticons in Quick Reply Buttons.

  • Phone Number as Call to Action: The Phone Number must be written along with the country code without the plus (+) sign. If the number is submitted without the country code, it violates the format and gets rejected by WhatsApp.
