Why you need a Facebook Business Manager and why it should be verified?
To use the WhatsApp API with Spur, you need to verify your Facebook Business Manager (FBM). Without verification, your WhatsApp account will be limited to only 250 messages per day. Follow these simple steps to complete your verification and avoid message limits.
Prep before FBM Verification
Before you begin the verification process for your Facebook Business Manager, ensure the following:
No Paid Business Manager: If you’ve purchased a Business Manager, your WhatsApp account may be blocked. Both the WhatsApp Business Name and Facebook Business Manager should belong to the same business.
FBM Age & Assets: Your FBM should be at least 1 month old. It must have the following assets:
A Facebook Page
A Verified Domain
An Email address linked to the domain
An Ad Account with a payment method
Active Ads that have run for some time
Registered Business: Your business must be officially registered. Have your registration documents ready, showing both your business address and legal business name.
Legal Name on Website: Your legal business name should be prominently displayed on your website footer or in a location easily accessible via search (e.g., using ‘Ctrl+F’). If it’s missing, the verification may be rejected.
These requirements signal trust to Meta and help in the verification process.
Steps to Verify FBM
To get your Facebook Business Manager verified, follow these steps:
Access Business Settings: Go to your Business Settings and select your business.
Navigate to Security Center: Go to Security Center
Check eligibility: If the “Start Verification” button is grayed out or not visible, follow steps in this article to become eligible.
Click on 'Get started'.
Then continue with the guided process.
Provide the business details exactly as they appear on your Business Registration Document.
Important: Ensure that the name, address, and phone number on your document match exactly what you enter in the verification form.
Make sure the legal business name you enter exactly matches what you have on the website.
Whenever prompted to select your business, always choose ‘My Business Isn’t Listed,’ even if your business details appear. This is crucial, as a single typo can lead to Facebook rejecting your verification.
Select a contact method: Always select email as your preferred verification method and make sure you have an email with your website's domain.
Upload Business Documents: When prompted, upload your Business Registration Document. It should contain your legal business name and the address you’ve provided during the verification process.
Fill in the OTP: Complete the verification step and enter the verification code that you will receive, and click on the "Continue" button.
Once you have completed these steps, Facebook will review your request to verify your Facebook Business Manager. If your request is approved, your FBM will be verified and you can continue.
💡 Sometime it takes up to 14 days to get approved perfectly.
Can't get OTP? Try Domain Verification Instead.
If you’re unable to get an OTP from Meta, you can opt for Domain Verification.
This requires adding a special code to your website with the help of a developer. Here’s how:
Head to Security Center and then go to Business Manager settings.
2. Go to Brand Safety > Domains in your Facebook Business Manager.
3. Add your domain with the 'Add' button.
4. When prompted, enter your domain.
5. Choose the 'add a meta-tag to your HTML source code'.
6. Once you’ve added the domain, send these instructions to your developer. After they’ve confirmed, hit Verify Domain.
7. Wait for it to get verified.
8. Once the domain is verified, proceed with the normal verification process as described above, and it should work smoothly.
