Switching Providers

Updated today

Onextel is Spur's recommended WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP). Switching to Onextel means your WhatsApp messaging infrastructure is fully aligned with Spur — better reliability, tighter integration, and one less middleman to worry about.

If you're currently on a different BSP and want to consolidate everything under one roof, this is how you do it.

Prerequisites

Before you set up this integration, make sure you have:

  • Admin access to your Facebook Business Manager/Portfolio account.

Steps / How to:

  1. Head over to your Spur Dashboard, and navigate to Settings > Whatsapp.

  2. Click View Channel for the number you wish to migrate.

  3. Scroll down to the end of the page; where you will see the WhatsApp API Provider section.

  4. Click on Switch to Onextel.

    2. ONLY REQUIRED IF YOUR NUMBER IS DISCONNECTED FROM SPUR
access to the phone number to receive an OTP.

(which means, this number should already be connected to Spur

  15. On clicking NEXT here, you will be shown a caution message. That's just Meta telling you that you are moving from one provider to another. You can safely ignore this message and click on the NEXT button again.

  16. Congratulations, you have done the hard part for now. Click on the BLUE CONFIRM button.

  17. Wait for Meta to do it's thing. Wait for it to migrate your number.

Error "WABA phone ID or access token is required"

If you see this error- "WABA phone ID or access token is required"-

Don't worry! This is an expected error, you just have to repeat the steps from this guide FROM HERE (CLICK HERE).

BUT ->

IMPORTANT- In the **WhatsApp Business Account** selection drop down, you have to select the WABA (WhatsApp Business Account) you just created.

If you don't know which one you created, select the one at the top. Because the newest one is at the top :)

The rest of the process is same.
