Action Blocks

Action blocks execute tasks in your automation flows. Unlike message blocks (which communicate with customers), action blocks work behind the scenes, updating data, triggering integrations, or performing operations in Spur or connected platforms.

What Action Blocks Do

When you connect an action block to a previous block's "Next Step", that action executes automatically. You can chain multiple actions in a single continued block without needing separate blocks for each task.

Example:

Message sent → Action Block executes:
1. Save customer response in workflow column
2. Add contact tag
3. Create ticket
4. Close ticket after resolution

All in one block.

How to Add an Action Block

  1. Click the Next Step connector from any block

  2. Click the + button on the right

  3. Select Action

  4. Choose which action to execute

  5. Fill in the required fields

  6. Click + Action to add more actions to the same block (optional)

  7. Connect to the next step (optional, you can also just let the flow stop there)
