In the world of eCommerce, timely and personalized communication with customers can make all the difference in increasing sales and enhancing the shopping experience. With Spur's powerful automation capabilities, one of the key tools at your disposal is the "Keyword Trigger." In this article, we'll dive deep into what keyword triggers are, how to set them up, and explore real-world use cases to help you maximize their potential.

What Are Keyword Triggers?

Keyword triggers are a fundamental feature of Spur's automation platform. They allow you to initiate automated workflows when specific keywords or phrases are mentioned by customers in their messages. This means that you can instantly respond to customer inquiries or engage with them based on their expressed interests or needs.

Setting Up Keyword Triggers

Creating a workflow using keyword triggers in Spur is straightforward:

1. Access the Spur Automations:

Log in to your Spur account and navigate to the Automations tab on the left.

2. Create a New Flow:

Click on the "New Flow" button on the top right corner and select the channel you want to create a flow for. Here we are selecting "WhatsApp".

3. Adding a Keyword Trigger:

Click on "Click to add a trigger" -> The Click on "Add Trigger" button -> The select "Keyword" -> In the "Enter Keywords here" box, add the keywords you receive the most and want to create the flow with and press enter after every keyword to finalize. For example: Hi, Hey, Price etc. are some commonly used keywords.
PS: Keywords are case sensitive.

4. Build Automated Responses:

After adding the trigger keyword, you can add the response for that specific trigger. Craft the automated response or action you want to trigger when the specified keywords are detected. You can either send a message or add a flow too.

5. Test and Activate:

Before deploying the trigger, it's a good practice to test it to ensure it works as intended. Once you're satisfied, activate the trigger. You can do that by sending the keyword as a message to your desired channel and wait for the trigger to kick in. Make sure you enable the flow before testing it.

Use Cases for Keyword Triggers:

Here, we sent a keyword "Hi" to a customer who has a flow set up for the same and the automated response was sent in a flash.

Conclusion:

Keyword triggers are a versatile tool within Spur's automation suite, allowing you to respond swiftly to customer inquiries, provide personalized recommendations, and streamline various aspects of eCommerce communication. By harnessing the power of keyword triggers, you can create a more engaging and efficient shopping experience for your customers, ultimately driving sales and satisfaction. Start using keyword triggers today to unlock the full potential of Spur's automation for eCommerce.
